Half-Term Book Week!

“A book is like a garden carried in the pocket”

Your little ones can explore the Arboretum searching high and low, guessing the books and finding the clues along our Book Trail. The book trail costs £2 per child and includes prize of a book to take home and enjoy.

KIDS GO FREE* into the Arboretum everyday during Book Week Monday 29th May - Friday 2nd June.

Get into character and dress up as your favourite book characters for a chance to win a FREE FAMILY TICKET! All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning, is to take a photo of your little ones in their fancy dress during your visit and post it to our Facebook page**

We would also love to encourage parents to bring a book along and find a lovely nook of the Arboretum to read to your little ones or have a moment to yourself while they run around our adventure playground or maze.

We have lot’s of FREE children’s activities too…

Join us for the Dinosaur, Fairy and Pre-school Woodland Animal Trails, conquer our maze to reach the castle and play in the adventure playground.

Half-Term Forestry Adventure Club

During each school holiday we will be running the Forestry Adventure Club for children aged 2-12 to learn so much more than just whats in the classroom with our qualified forestry school teacher! From Bug hunts to Story Telling, campfire songs and cooking, the forestry adventure club has it all!

Summer Plant Hunters’ Fair

Sunday 11th June 10am-5pm

 

A wonderful day out full of inspiring ideas to take back with you to your own garden!

 

Combine a wonderful walk round our arboretum with a visit to our annual plant fair to fill you with inspiring ideas you can take back with you to your own garden. All the nurseries that will be with us on the day are experienced growers and are able to give specific information based on their real experience: you won't find any fly-by-nights and supermarket plants. You will find RHS medallists and National Collection Holders, keen plants growers, designers and artisans. Above all people who love plants and are passionate about what they grow. Every line up of nurseries is selected and planned to ensure each stall is different with its own unique specialty. 

 

Entry into the Plant Fair, Gardens & Arboretum is half-price for the day, just £2.50 for adults and £1 for children.

Mini Adventurers Club

Our Mini Adventurers Club is designed for parents/carers with preschool children to come and spend time outdoors learning & exploring! We have loads of fun activities every week including Arts & Crafts, Mud Kitchen, Mini Beast Hunts, Pond Dipping, Camp Fire Cooking, Campfire Songs, Story Telling and More!

Brand New Art Courses

Do you like the idea of getting to grips with painting and drawing and spending a day in the stunning locations of Arley Arboretum? This course is perfect for you.

Taking inspiration from the grounds of Arley Arboretum participants will be guided through a series of creative exercises gathering visual ‘material’ and learning to record what is seen. The initial drawing techniques will combine studies using line and tone experimenting with different materials from pencil, pen, chalk and charcoal. 

Cost per participant is £99 per person.

Sessions will last for 6 hours and will include a 30-45-minute lunch and 2 x 15-minute comfort breaks.

Beginners Photography Courses

Learn the basics of Digital Photography with local professional photographer Scarlett Shellis. Our photography workshop for beginners will have you shooting in manual in just one day! Time to trash auto and get creative with how you use your camera. On this workshop you will learn how to manually set your camera to manipulate aperture, shutter speed and ISO to capture amazing images.
